Ranitidine
Ranitidine works as H2 blocker, which is used in treating ulcers; gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), and to relieve conditions where the stomach produces excess acid including Zollinger-Ellison syndrome. Generic Ranitidine is used in preventing and relieving the symptoms of heartburn, which are associated with acid indigestion and upset stomach. Ranitidine functions through decreasing the formulation of acid formed in the stomach.
Available in effervescent tablet and syrup form, ranitidine can be taken orally. Usually taken once or 2 to 4 times in a day. If for preventing symptoms, it is to be taken an hour before intake of food. Over-the-counter ranitidine is not to be consumed for any longer durations than two weeks, unless prescribed otherwise by your doctor.
