Prescribing Properties: Glimepiride, the active ingredient of Glio, is a blood-sugar-lowering agent belonging to the sulfonylurea group. Indication: Non-insulin-dependent (type II) diabetes, whenever blood sugar levels cannot be controlled adequately by diet, physical exercise and weight reduction alone. Dosage: In principle, the dosage of Glio is governed by the desired blood sugar level. The dosage of glimepiride must be the lowest which is sufficient to achieve the desired metabolic control.
