Prescribing Information

Dosage:
Average daily dose: 2 x 200 mg upto 400 mg can be given as a single dose in the morning. In severe infections or infections with complicating factors the dosage may be increased in individual cases to 800 mg daily (2 divided doses). In patients with impaired renal function the initial dose is the same as for patients with normal renal function. In patients undergoing haemodialysis or peritoneal dialysis maintenance dose of 100 mg every 24 hours may be given. The duration of treatment should not exceed 2 months.
Recommended dose for prevention of infections in patients with a significant
reduction of resistance to infections is 400-600 mg daily.

Indications:
Infections of the respiratory tract especially, if caused by Gram negative pathogen. Infections of ear, nose and throat. Infections of the abdominal cavity. Infection of the kidneys, urinary tract and genital organs. Infections of soft tissue and skin. Infections of the bones and joints.
